Don’t Use Dating Apps, Do This Instead

When I was 18 years old, I was sure I would be married by my 30th. I had successfully internalized hours of Disney movies persuading me that love was just an adventure away.

What actually happened was that I experience my fair share of heartache. From cheating girlfriends to falling in love with the wrong people, I failed in the dating game.

It was time to try online dating. After all, I had friends who had found love online, and dating is just a number’s game. Right?

So, I signed up for a couple of dating apps and started swiping…

Left. Right. Right. Left. Right…

Then, I waited and waited and waited… And nothing happened.

I didn’t meet anyone worthwhile and got frustrated that I had to wait for someone to pick me. There had to be a better way!

Thankfully for me, my friend Kofi came up with a good solution: blind dates set up by a friend that you trust and that knows you.

I went on my first blind date that he set up, and had a blast. It changed the way I perceived meeting people and got me excited about dating again.

I realized that using my friends and network could help me find love. Not only did they know me well, but they also knew the other person on the blind date. This…
